In a bizarre incident, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Friday arrested a hawker after a video purportedly showing him mimicking and mocking a host of politicians while selling toys on a train has gone viral on social media. The six-minute-long video, which is doing rounds on several social networking sites, shows the railway hawker doing a parody of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Identified as Avdhesh Dubey, the hawker hails from Uttar Pradeh's Varanasi and had migrated to Gujarat's Valsad two years ago. Since then, he has been selling toys to train passengers travelling between Vapi and Surat.

"Gujarat: Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested a train hawker Avdhesh Dubey yesterday, whose video mimicking politicians while selling toys had gone viral. RPF says he was apprehended during unauthorize vending in train no 17204-sleeper coach at Surat Railway station," the news agency ANI reported.

Avdhesh, who was arrested by RPF from Surat Railways station, is found guilty of offences under several sections of Railway Act, including section 44 (prohibition on hawking and begging), 145 B (spreading nuisance or using abusive language in railway carriage), 147 (unlawful entry into train), among others.

Speaking to Indian Express, Railway Protection Force Inspector (Surat) Ishwar Singh Yadav said, "We have charged Avdhesh Dubey for unauthorised vending".

"The video clip of Avdhesh Dubey has become very popular on social media and we also received his video. In the video clip he was seen making remarks on the political leaders," Yadav said, adding that "his way of talking to customers is quite impressive".

The RPF has also filed an FIR against Dubey and later produced him before a Judicial Magistrate First Class court in Surat where he accepted his guilt. The court has fined Dubey Rs 3,500 and also sent him to 10 days judicial custody.
