Protesting against the linking of Aadhaar with mobile phones, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday refused to link Aadhaar with her phone and said that if the authorities want to disconnect her phone then let them do it.

Banerjee added that the Trinamool Congress will observe 8th November as 'Black Day' and conduct rallies throughout the state carrying black flags.

It was on the same day in 2016 that the Modi government had announced demonetisation of high denomination currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.

Earlier on Tuesday, Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said 18 opposition parties would observe November 8 as Black Day to mark their protest against demonetisation which was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year on the very same day.

While addressing a press conference in the national capital, Azad said demonetisation is a scam of the century. He said Congress president Sonia Gandhi has constituted a coordination committee of six parties.

Azad said the government made 135 changes since demonetisation was implemented and several people lost their lives.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Derek O Brien said that all opposition parties will question the government, and would observe November 8 as Black Day.
