WB CM Mamata Banerjee says SC didn’t reject her Aadhaar plea

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday stressed that the Supreme Court has not rejected her petition but directed her to approach it in an individual capacity in a case wherein the state government had challenged the constitutional validity of Aadhaar. She said she respects the court order.

“If court has said on Aadhaar matter that I need to approach individually, then I respect it. They have not rejected my petition,” ANI quoted Mamata as saying.

Her reaction came after the apex court said under the federal structure an individual can file such a plea but not a state government.
