Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, Delhi.
After meeting the PM, Mehbooba said that she discussed issue of less voting percentage in recent elections, and security situation in J&K.
“Modi ji has repeatedly said that he would follow Vajpayee ji's footsteps, whose policy is of reconciliation not confrontation. Earlier, talks were held at the time of Vajpayee sahab. LK Advani was deputy PM then. We have talked with Hurriyat and others,” said Mehbooba after meeting PM.
Mehbooba pressed that J&K doesn't have control over water resources, and how losses caused by Indus Waters Treaty can be compensated.
“There are some youths who are disillusioned, others are being incited. Will work out something in Unified command meet tomorrow. We need to take it forward from the place Vajpayee sahab left otherwise there is no chance of any improvement,” said J&K CM.
J&K CM said that let us control the situation first because talks cannot be held amidst bullets and stone-pelting.
