Heatwave condition to continue in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan for next four to five days
Summer has just begun, but Central and Northern India have started to reel under the hot summer sun and severe heat wave. Heat wave condition will prevail in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan for the next four to five days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
The weatherman said that temperature in these places will rise above 45 degrees, and many places in Delhi NCR, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh will experience dust storm on Thursday.
The mercury rose above 40 degrees Celcius in most parts of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh with Allahabad recording 46 degrees Celcius on Wednesday.
Concerned authorities have cautioned people of severe health conditions under the strong heat wave and advised people to drink plenty of water to keep the body well dehyderated during this hot season.
