After Palace on Wheels, Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is all set to start Wedding on Wheels package, which comes at a price of Rs 5.5 crore.
The eight-day wedding package will start from Mumbai and culminate at Delhi passing through Ajanta, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ranthambore and Agra.
Wedding on Wheels package, a week-long extravaganza aboard the the Maharajas' Express, will merge both the week-long wedding festivities with the experience of traversing through Incredible India.
The train can be booked for luxury wedding package of the Heritage of India tour for 88 persons. An official from IRCTC mentioned that the package is targeted at uber rich and will have the best of everything. The entire event will be managed by experts making it a memorable event for bride, groom and families.
The train has 43 guest cabins - 20 deluxe, 18 junior suites, 4 suites and 1 Presidential suite fitted across 24 coaches. The minimum fare per person for the eight-day Heritage of India tour starts at Rs 4.5 lakh and goes up to Rs 16 lakh for the presidential suite.
Booking the entire train for an eight-day wedding package will cost differently for different packages.
Beside weddings on Wheels, IRCTC is also planning to host high class corporate events, film shoots, fashion events etc. in this package, which is expected to come into effect from December this year.
These coaches have been jointly designed by IRCTC, Research, Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), and Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Perambur.
