The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized fake Indian currency notes of the face value around Rs six lakh in Rs 2,000 denominations from West Bengal's Malda district and arrested two persons including a woman on Sunday.

Acting on a tip off, BSF troopers raided Gulapgunj market in Malda district and recovered the fake Rs 2,000 notes from the arrested.

A senior BSF official said, “The raids were conducted on intelligence inputs. We have recovered Rs 2000 denomination notes having face value of Rs 6.50,000 from the arrested.”

The BSF earlier this week had arrested a person identified as Bishnu Pada Biswas, 47, from Malda. The security force had recovered 100 fake Rs 2,000 notes of face value of Rs 2 lakh.
