West Bengal elections 2016: Netaji's nephew is BJP's candidate against 'the valiant' Mamata Banerjee

Ahead of the West Bengal polls, the Bhartiya Janata Party on Wednesday fielded Netaji's grand-nephew Chandra Kumar Bose against the CM candidate. He will be contesting against Mamata Banerjee from Bhabanipur in the West Bengal assembly polls.

The grand nephew of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose joined BJP in presence of party president Amit Shah on January 25.

Bose was on January 23 also present at the ceremony where 100 files on Netaji were declassified by the NDA government.

There he was heard saying, "We welcome this step by the Prime Minister wholeheartedly. This is a day of transparency in India. We feel that certain very important files were destroyed during the Congress regime in order to hide the truth. We have documentary evidence to understand this. So, we feel the Indian government should take steps to ensure the release of files lying in Russia, Germany, UK and USA."

The journey which started with exploration soon ended in political career for Mr Bose.

Seeing his significant relationship with Netaji and BJP pitting him against Mamata Banerjee from West Bengal seat it is likely to trigger another debate.
