Under PM-KMY, farmers will get Rs 3,000 monthly pension after the age of 60 years

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY): The Narendra Modi government has come up with a new pension scheme for farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the scheme in Ranchi on September 12. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Mandhan Yojana (PM-KMY) enables the farmers to save money and secure his future. 

Under this scheme, every registered pension holder will get Rs. 3000 as a monthly pension. The starting point of the contribution amount is Rs. 55. The upper limit of the contribution amount is Rs. 250. The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) will manage the activities of the scheme.

Here are the features, application procedure, eligibility and documents necessary for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY) farmer pension scheme.

PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY): Eligibility Criteria

This scheme is only for farmers and agricultural workers. He/she must be a resident of any state or union territory of India. 
Farmers must fall in small or marginal class to become a part of this pension scheme. He/she must have their names in the BPL list. The farmer should not have 5 acres or more of land.

PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY): Age Requirement 

 The only agricultural workers, within the age bracket of 18 years and 40 years, will be eligible for the benefits of this pension scheme.

PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY): Documents Required

One will need a proff of residence issued by the respective state governments. The farmers will also need to furnish a photocopy of their BPL certificate as well. They will also have to submit any document proving their age.

They will also need to submit a copy of their official agricultural registration certificate to confirm that they belong to either the small or marginal category. Farmer should submit land documents at the registration time.

The Aadhar card is the main document that will help the CSC executives to check the ID claims. They will also have furnish a document with their bank and account details to aid the money transfer process.

PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMY): How To Apply

All eligible and interested farmers need to arrange their documents and reach the Common Service Centers or the CSCs, which are located in the respective areas.  The CSC executives will check their documents to verify their eligibillity and claims. 

The CSC executives will open the digitized application form and fill in the details on behalf of the farmers. A fee of Rs 30 will be charged for the service.

Narendra Modi government may soon launch an online portal, dedicated to this scheme, through which, farmers will be able to enroll without any help from others.
