Srinagar:

As the winter has started knocking the valley and mountains have already received the first snowfall,Pakistan has started conspiring to send cross-border terrorism before mountains become difficult to trek. Over two dozen infiltration attempts have been foiled by the security forces on the border in the last one month. Defense experts say that there would again be a rise in both infiltration bids and ceasefire violations in October as Pakistan's army provides cover to these militants crossing over.

The Army has escalated the vigilance all across the border. “Pakistan every year tries to send terrorists across the border before snowfall which continues this year too. We have some reports of infiltration from Gurez and Bandipora sectors, the army had also established contact at these places, and we have managed to recover huge arms and ammunition from these areas close to the border. Some attempts were made in Baramulla and Handwara too. Our border security grid is strong. We have managed to foil all the attempts in bordering areas", Said DG JK Police Dilbagh Singh. Experts say that more than 250 terrorists are ready at the launch pads in PoK to cross over to Kashmir. And Pakistan is doing its level best to infiltrate these terrorists across.

JK Police says some attempts of Infiltration might have become successful but most of the attempts have been foiled. However, there is a new challenge for security forces at the borders though; weapons and drugs are being dropped by the help of Chinese made drones in these bordering areas. Some Chinese weapons have also been recovered by the forces recently. A large cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered from various sites of bordering areas. And it’s being said that all this ammunition was dropped by the help of drones. ‘There is a carbine which we have recovered which is Chinese made and Chinese star pistols have been with militants for quite some time. Dropping weapons by drones is a new strategy by Pakistan and we have taken strict measures to counter this. We have seen a lot of consignments of weapons being dropped like AK47, MO4, Pistols and Grenades and we have busted all these attempts.’’ Said Dilbagh Singh, DG JK Police. Not only ammunition but narcotics is also being sent with the help of these drones. These narcotics are being sold and the money is sent back to terror groups in the valley. Police say they are taking strict action against people involved with it.
