The China is miffed with New Delhi’s decision to build a road near Pangong Lake in Ladakh where the militaries of both countries indulged in a face off on India’s Independence Day.
Reacting to the reports of India’s road construction in Ladakh, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said New Delhi protest China’s road projects along border areas but itself building a road.
"The Indian side is closely following China's road building, but India's action itself has proven that the Indian side says something and does another," said Hua Chunying.
"It seems that the Indian side is slapping its own face," Chunying said on the reports of India’s approval to a road project 20 km away from Pangong Lake in Ladakh.
On August 15, Chinese PLA soldiers tried to enter into Indian Territory but they were stopped by the Army. The incident later escalated and they started pelting stones on Indian soldiers.
Chinese Foreign Ministry also warned India that the act will make situation between the Asian rivals even worse. India and China have been locked in a standoff in Doklam plateau for more than two months. The standoff had started after Indian troops tried to stop a Chinese construction party from building a road in Doklam- an area disputed between Bhutan and China.
