The Balasore Police has arrested the woman. She has been identified as wife of a BJP worker.

She was arrested by Police personnel deployed in charge of the chief minister’s security.

According to another officer, the woman during questioning told the police that she hurled eggs on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to protest arrest of her husband.

The BJD members have condemned the incident. Jeevan Pradip Das, BJD MLA from Balasore Sadar said,  “The opposition party to gain powers in the state have resorted to hooliganism.”

He asserted if the woman had some particular grievances, she could have raised the issue with the CM or concerned officers.
