AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Raghav Chadha strongly criticised the BJP government, accusing it of disregarding the constitution and parliamentary laws. He pointed out that historically, whenever an opposition-submitted no-confidence motion was accepted by the speaker, no other legislative business was conducted until the motion was debated and voted upon. However, the BJP government is flouting these rules, conducting regular business, and passing bills without addressing the no-confidence motion, the MP said. He urged the government and the speaker to prioritise the debate and vote on the no-confidence motion before proceeding with other matters in the Lok Sabha.
Shri Raghav Chadha also informed that a delegation of INDIA alliance will visit Manipur to express solidarity with the people of the state and gain a better understanding of the situation on the ground. He highlighted the dire conditions in Manipur, with thousands of people left homeless, hundreds losing their lives, and heinous crimes committed against women and humanity. He criticised the central government for its inaction despite repeated concerns raised by the state's governor and BJP leaders. He questioned why the current Manipur government was not dissolved, and why constitutional measures, such as Article 355 and 356, were not being employed to restore peace and save lives.
Furthermore, he asserted that the BJP's attitude might be influenced by Manipur's relatively small size and only having two Lok Sabha seats. He implied that the government's response might have been different if Manipur were a larger state with more seats, like UP, which has 80 seats. He added that if Manipur had a non-BJP government, the central government would have imposed President's rule much earlier.
On the matter of the CBI taking over the investigation of a Manipur video, he criticised the delay in action, stating that it came too late after almost three months and therefore “too late, too little.” He said that it took the BJP 80-85 days while people are suffering everyday due to inaction.
