New Delhi:
The wreckage of missing Indian Air Force Sukhoi-30 fighter jet found close to last known position of the aircraft on Friday.
There were constant search operation since the aircraft went missing on May 23 after taking off from Salonibari airbase in Tezpur on a routine training sortie.
During the search operation, the weather was marginally better on Thursday than Wednesday, intensive air efforts was put in to the ongoing operation tasking C-130 aircraft with electro-optical payload, Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and Chetak helicopters of IAF for this mission.
Apart from the aerial assets, four ground parties of IAF personnel, nine parties of Indian Army and two parties of state administration was deployed at different locations to search the area for the aircraft.
