Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath dialed up Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to express concern about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security breach during a recent visit to Chitrakoot district, reports said. A Samajwadi Party worker had shown a black flag to the prime minister when he went to the foundation of Bundelkhand Expressway on February 29. The man was overpowered by the security forces of the prime minister and was later handed to the local police.
According to reports, the chief minister expressed his displeasure over the incident. Confirming the telephonic conversation between the two leaders, additional chief secretary (Information) Awanish Awasthi said it was a courtesy call. “It was a courtesy call to the former chief minister by the CM,” Awasthi was quoted as saying by TOI.
Yogi asked Samajwadi Party chief to direct his party workers not to pose threat to PM’s security during public programmes as the Special Protection Group (SPG) can take strict action against such protesters in the future.
To this, the former chief minister said that no such direction has been given to party workers. Yadav also tried to drew Yogi’s attention toward a similar attempt by a protester during his rally at Kannauj.
