Janta Darbar of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was marred by stampeded which resulted in injuries to several people including a pregnant woman, reports said. 

Large crowd had gathered to meet the CM and there few security personnel to manage the crowd. He was holding the darbar on the occasion of Guru Purnima.

About half a dozen people, including a pregnant woman, sustained injuries during a stampede during janata darbar inside Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur on Sunday, a DNA report said.

A large number of followers of Nath sect from different parts of the country and Nepal had descended at Gorakhnath temple and matt to seek blessings of their Guru Yogi Adityanath on the occasion of Guru Purnima on Sunday. 

At the same time, a large number of people from eastern UP seeking solution to their problem also made their way to the temple to meet the Chief Minister.

According to reports, elaborate arrangements were made to control the crowd and only batches of 50 people were allowed to go inside Hindu Sewashram where Yogi was holding janata darbar but those who queued up since wee hours became restless and pushed each other to force their entry. This led to stampede in which six people, including a pregnant woman, sustained injuries. Within five minutes, the police controlled the unruly crowd and took injured to hospital for treatment.

Earlier, a similar situation was witnessed in April when a huge crowd had descended in Lucknow to meet Yogi Adityanath at his Janta Darbar on a Sunday in Lucknow.
