In an exclusive interview to News Nation, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath touched upon many different issues ranging from singing of national anthem at Madrassas to Hindutva in India.
During the interview, Adityanath said that the order to make singing of Vande Mataram and national anthem mandatory in Madrassas was not wrong.
"The Madrassas which are doing good works should be appreciated. There were many Madrassas where tricolour was unfurled," said Yogi Adityanath.
Speaking on Hindutva, Adityanath said that it is part of life in India and iterated that everyone who takes birth in India is a Hindu. He added that people travelling abroad are known as a Hindustani.
Launching a scathing attack on the neighbouring country, Adityanath said that the term Pakistan is considered as an expletive.
Adityanath also spoke about his government in Uttar Pradesh. He emphasised that out of 1,35,000 km of roads in the state, 85,000 km has become free of potholes. He added that the law and order situation has also improved in the state since the time he took over.
When asked on rising police encounters in the state, Adityanath said that Samajwadi Party leaders are head of criminals. He said that police have started acting against criminals and that is hurting Akhilesh Yadav and SP leaders.
Adityanath said that so far, more than 450 encounters have been done in the state. He added that they will take all possible action to ensure safety for people. He added that police should retaliate in the manner which is suitable to criminals.
On being asked about completion of six months in office, Adityanath said that they are presenting the works done by government in front of people. He added that they have released a card mentioning achievements of government.
"Today I can say that there is a sentiment of investment in the state. I had inherited the state full of anarchy," said Yogi Adityanath.
"We will work for the welfare of people. We have waived-off loans of 12 lakh farmers. There are farmers whose loans worth one lakh has been waived-off," said Yogi Adityanath.
Adityanath questioned dynasty politics by asking whether there are no suitable candidates other than Rahul Gandhi in Congress or someone more suitable to lead SP other than Akhilesh Yadav.
