In a courtesy visit, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday reached out to Samajwadi Party (SP) stalwart Mulayam Singh Yadav at his Vikramaditya Marg residence in Lucknow and enquired about his health. Yogi also gifted him a book on Kumbh, 2019. Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and his estranged uncle Shivpal Yadav were also seen along Mulayam during the meet.
"UP CM Yogi Adityanath meets SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav at his residence. MS Yadav was admitted to hospital yesterday due to high levels of blood sugar. SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav and Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Chief Shivpal Yadav also present," the news agency ANI reported.

Yogi called on the veteran politician a day after he was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences due to high levels of blood sugar. Mulayam’s brother Shivpal Singh Yadav, former minister Ahmad Hasan, daughter-in-law and former Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav and wife Sadhana were by his side at the hospital. However, Yadav was discharged from the hospital this morning as his test reports were found normal.
In late April too, the Samajwadi Party founder was rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences following complaint of weakness. Yadav, who was diagnosed with mild uncontrolled diabetes at that time, however, was released after a routine check up by a team of doctors.
SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, his son Akhilesh Yadav, brother Shivpal Singh Yadav had a light moment with UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
Overcoming his struggles with ill-health, Yadav, in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, won the Mainpuri seat by defeating his BJP candidate Prem Singh Shakya with a margin of over 94,000 votes. While Yadav polled 5,24926 votes, his rival Shakya received 4,30,537 of the total votes cast. In 2014 general elections, the seat was bagged by SP candidate Tej Pratap Singh Yadav.
