YS Rajasekhar Reddy helped Maoists in attempt to assassinate me, claims N Chadrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has claimed that his predecessor, Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, had allegedly helped CPI-Maoists in an attempt to assassinate him in 2003.

English daily Hindustan Times in its article wrote that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president's allegation came in response to Reddy's son and YSR Congress president, YS Jaganmohan Reddy's recent comment in which they had said that Naidu should be shot dead in public for allegedly cheating people with false promises.

Naidu had survived an assassination attempt carried out by the CPI-Maoist on October 2, 2003. The Left-wing extremist outfit has triggered a landmine blast when Naidu was on his way to Tirumala hills for a religious functions.

Naidu told the journalists that Reddy had allegedly provided logistic support including mobile phones and funds for the banned-organisation via one of his supporters Gangi Reddy.

He also told the media that Gangi Reddy was recently arrested in a red sanders smuggling case.

The Andhra chief Minister also added, “Jagan has a criminal brain and so he talks about killing me.”

He further stated, “What crime have I committed? In the past too he had asked people to attack me with chappals.”

Naidu also claimed that after becoming the chief minister, Rajasekhar Reddy had tried to reduce his security cover.

Naidu and Rahasekhar Reddy were once close friends.

After the death of Rajasekhar Reddy in a chopper crash in 2009, Naidu and Jagan Reddy have been accusing each other for cheating people of Andhra Pradesh.
