In a case of internet prank gone wrong, Bengaluru police arrested seven students for dressing as ghosts and scaring unsuspecting commuters. These seven YouTubers, who are college students, were arrested Monday for playing late night pranks on residents in Mathikere, Yeshwantpur and other areas of Bengaluru. They would dress up as ghosts in white robes in an attempt to scare pedestrians and motorists and record their reactions. According to reports, they had created a YouTube channel called 'Kooky Pedia'. This channel has other prank videos also. All the seven are currently out on bail. The students were identified as Shaan Malik, Naveed, Sakib, Syed Nabil, Yusif Ahmed, Sajil Mohammed, and Mohammed Ayub.

S Kumar, DCP North, told ANI, "The youths were forcefully stopping and scaring the passersby. They were arrested under bailable sections and given bail in the police station itself."

According to Indian Express, the arrests took place around after locals complained that the students were "creating public nuisance and frightening them." The police have registered a case under Indian Penal Code sections 503 (criminal intimidation), 268 (public nuisance), and 141 (unlawful assembly).
