Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami on Thursday said superstar Rajinikanth's assertion of people creating a "wonder" in 2021 assembly elections meant the AIADMK retaining power for the third time in a row. "I think by miracle he (Rajinikanth) meant that AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) is again going to come to power in 2021. After 2021 State Assembly Elections, CM of Tamil Nadu is going to be a AIADMK's person," he told reporters here when asked about the actor's remark.
Rajinikanth, earlier in the day, asserted that people of Tamil Nadu will create a "wonder and marvel" in the 2021 assembly elections in the state, remarks that come amidst indications of him of politically aligning with his contemporary and MNM chief Kamal Haasan.

Rajinikanth had also said that he would join hands with actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan for the welfare of people of Tamil Nadu if such a situation arose.
Rajinikanth, who has announced he would launch his political party to contest the state assembly elections due in 2021, was responding to questions from reporters on Haasan’s remarks earlier on Tuesday that he (the latter) would join hands with him for Tamil Nadu’s welfare.
"If a situation arises wherein me and Kamal have to join hands for the welfare of people of Tamil Nadu, we will surely come together," Rajinikanth said in a brief interaction with media at the airport.
While backing Rajinikanth’s comments on Chief Minister K Palaniswami which have drawn the ire of ruling AIADMK, Haasan said he would "travel together" with his contemporary for Tamil Nadu’s welfare. However, Haasan gave no indications of the two aligning politically.
