In the match number 32 of Indian Premier League on Wednesday, Delhi Daredevils will be locking horns with Rajasthan Royals at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi and will look to keep the hopes of staying alive in the tournament.
Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Daredevils faced defeat at the hands of Chennai Super Kings in Pune, making it difficult for DD to enter the Play-offs. One more loss can knock out Delhi Daredevils from the tournament.
Apart from Rishab Pant and Shreyas Iyer, no other batsman have contributed much towards the total runs scored by the team.
One of the biggest bids by Delhi Daredevils, Glenn Maxwell, who was picked at a price of Rs 9 crore in the auction has hardly showcased any fireworks so far.
Rajasthan Royals also tasted defeat by SunRisers Hyderabad by 11 runs, which made them fall to the bottom three in the Standings. Of the seven matches played by RR, Rajasthan could only manage to win three matches.
Some of the highest bid players in Rajasthan team also failed to perform as per the expectation. Jaydev Unadkat, who was picked at a price of Rs 11.5 crore in the auction, has only scalped four wickets in seven matches.
Another big purchase by RR, Ben Stokes, can only score 147 runs in the seven innings played so far at a strike rate of 123.52.
Match Predictions – Statistically, Rajasthan Royals has an edge over Delhi Daredevils, as RR has won 11 times out of 17 encounters between the two.
But, every game in the T20 format is different and is hardly predictable.
The key players to look forward in the upcoming match will be RR’s skipper Ajinkya Rahane who has the highest runs against DD than any other player.
However, it will be interesting to see Delhi’s fight for survival in the season with every match being of highest importance.
