Idris Elba reveals which ‘playlist’ Meghan Markle sent ahead of DJing royal wedding

Vouching for Idris Elba to be the next James Bond, how about invite him as your DJ for the next event? In case you are now aware, the Luther star was behind the dish at the royal wedding for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. While the news came as shocker for many of us given how public the royal wedding was, the DJ and actor just told BBC Radio 1Xtra about the playlist the Duchess of Sussex sent him for their big day in 2018.

The Thor actor reveals that in the long list sent by Meghan was Whitney Houston and rap music for the then newly-weds to groove to.

It had long been rumoured that Meghan and Prince Harry's first dance would be to Whitney Houston's all-time favourite, ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’’ so it makes pretty sense that Elba included the late singer’s name though he did not reveal which track.

"It went off!" the 46-year-old newlywed told DJ Ace during the interview to promote his upcoming projects.

Meghan sent me a playlist with some bare tunes on it," Idris said adding that there was music from West Coast rappers - who could have been Dr Dre, Tupac or even Snoop Dogg.

"I am not saying nothing! Ask Meghan and Harry’ Elba added laughing.

Talking about weddings, the handsome British hunk tied the knot with Sabrina Dhowre on April 26 in a three-day ceremony in Morocco.
