5 signs your make-up products have expired

It might not be possible for you to every time check the expiry date of your beauty products. But you should pay attention to what its changing colour is saying to you.

Just because they seem fine, doesn’t necessarily mean that products are still OK for use, you should check their expiration period at least once a month.

There are many signs that can tell you that your beauty products have expired. Here are some of the signs that tell us more:

Change in colour

If the colour of your beauty product has oxidised to a different one it can be a sign of its expiry.

Change in fragrance

This can be one of the key indicators in telling you that your beauty product is not anymore OK for use. Specially your mascaras and eyeliners can smell really funny when they are stale.

It turns clumpy, cloggy

If its turning cloggy or clumpy you need to throw it. Clumps are a sign of bacterial growth.

Too chalky

Not only cream and liquid make up products, but powder products expire too. If a grey film or a chalky layer has developed over your powder products, it’s a warning sign that it has expired.

White spots

Pay special attention to the tip of your eyeliners, sometimes white spots on them may be a sign of its expiry.
