French fashion house Chanel had its first runway post Karl Lagerfeld’s death as a tribute at Paris Fashion Week. With a beautiful German alpine village, much to the likes of Lagerfeld who always worked ahead on the extravagant shows and backdrops, the show in itself had the fingerprints of the fashion genius on the snow-themed winter spectacle.

The Autumn-Winter 2019 show was attended by the likes of Anna Wintour, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Monica Bellucci, which started with a minute of silence. The collection had beautiful silhouettes of black and white with billowing trousers, long coats, puffer jackets, and dramatic lapels, accessorized with furry winter boots including a feather mini skirt modeled by Penelope Cruz and was designed in collaboration with Karl’s successor, Virginie Viard, the icon’s right hand, who took over Lagerfeld’s place.

Lagerfeld, who died on Feb. 19 at the age of 85, had served as artistic director of Chanel since 1983, when CEO Alain Wertheimer gave him "carte blanche" to reinvent the brand after Coco Chanel ‘s death.
