Winnie Harlow
This addition of ‘differences’ opens up a whole new world to how the fashion industry is being viewed. Has it become more-accepting? Or has it began accepting what was always human? In 2014, Winnie Harlow, an African-American with vitiligo caused a stir when she entered America’s Next Top Model. With figures such as Madeline and Winnie, the definition of beauty and to-be-a-model was viewed with a new light.
Maria Martin
The same goes at the Miami Swim Week of July this year when model and mother Maria Martin caused a furore as she walked the runway breastfeeding her baby. These are just a few sightings of how the whole course of fashion is being redefined.
Madeline Stuart in a plaid and stripe shirt-dress
Madeline Stuart is one of the few examples who are “The Change†the fashion industry has somehow eclipsed for a long time. Before NYFW, the model has walked for Nonie, House of Byfield, Lulu et Gigi and five other shows. Like most models, Stuart starts off her day with a healthy breakfast then proceeds to her outfit fittings, gets her strawberry blonde hair and make-up done and prepares for her next runway appearance. At the NYFW, the young model was seen with a plaid and stripe shirt-dress with a glittery eye-makeup between two male models in an array of different attire from different designers.
Madeline Stuart has her own label, 21 Reasons Why
Young Madeline has shown the world that she is more than just a rising star on the ramp, she’s an up-and-coming fashion designer with her own label ‘21 Reasons Why’. And at NYFW this year, her label featured watercolour jumpsuits, flirty crop tops, and high-waisted pants. In her three years career, Madeline has walked as many as 60 plus runway shows and hope to enlighten others to all the possibilities of mankind. Some of the shows she has walked include Style Fashion Week, Melange Fashion Week, Caspian Fashion, Runway Dubai, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week China, Birmingham Fashion Week, among many others.
