Follow your dream and not age says Classic Mrs India North 2017 second runner up Jyoti Rupaal

Marie Forleo had once quoted 'Any age is the perfect age to follow your dream'. This quote stands true for Mrs Jyoti Rupal who went on to defy age and become Classic Mrs. India North 2017 second runner up Jyoti Rupaal.

Beauty pageants have always been quite fascinating for every woman out there as walking the ramp is an altogether a different experience. While most of the woman have that secret desire to be there, only some have the courage to go against all the odds and follow their dreams.

But with Jyoti, her will to beat the odds came along with a bright, inspiring smile and huge support from family.

And here she is - crowned as 'Queen of North India' as quoted by her.

Jyoti was crowned as the second runner up in the Mrs India North 2017 'Classic' category, which was organised by Mrs Deepali Phadnis, Director Mrs India Pageants and Productions Pvt Ltd early this month. In fact she also won 'beauty with hearts' title in the contest.

But that's not all. Apart from this achievement, Mrs Rupaal is a go-getter in every sense. She was in the travel industry for almost six years before she met a deadly accident in 1996. Later, Army gave her another line of profession where in she was made a Principal of middle school.

A housemaker, a social-worker and an intellectual personna, Mrs Rupaal indeed has got everything to be termed as 'beauty with brains'.

We had a telephonic interview with vivacious diva about her achievement and here are the excerpts of the conversation.

What made you participate in Classic Mrs India 2017?

I was just going through my FB page when I came across ad of Mrs India 2017. I went through their website, read about it and the category of Classic Mrs India caught my attention. That's when I had a thought, an inner feeling to go for it thinking may be I can do it. The only thing that was going on in my mind was that you are never too old to set a goal for yourself.

Is it the first time you participated in a beauty contest?

Yes. This is the first time ever a contested for a beauty pageant.

What was your family's reaction about your decision to participate in the pageant?

They were all very happy. My husband was very supportive when he came to know about it and encouraged me to participate saying 'You've got that spark to get it'. Besides my son too was elated to know about my decision to contest for the pageant. All my family were equally happy and supporting me

So how did you prepare for the pageant?

Throughout the pageant, I just wanted to be myself with total honesty. I just didn't want to fabricate anything. I just wanted to portray myself just the way I am. And being an Army officer's wife, we are a cocktail of grace and poise which helped be to get through this. Even I kept that decorum althrough the contest.

Any regrets about not winning the main crown and just being a second runner-up?

I had put my best put forward and I am very happy with the crown. I am still the queen of North India and I am happy on that part.

Any tip for young ladies preparing for other beauty contests?

It is very important for one to come out of their comfort zone and have that confidence in you to achieve something. for instance, I am a total non-dancer. During the talent round where in we had to display our skills in 90 seconds. I chose to go for dancing and I learned the skills in just six days. And my performance was really appreciated by everyone. So there is nothing that you cannot achieve. If you have the will, you can achieve anything in life at any stage. Besides, the beauty pageants these days are more about the inner beauty and celebrate womanhood in true sense. And age is just a number when it comes to achieving a dream.
