Actor Kalki Koechlin will be the showstopper for designer Gaurav Katta's maiden show at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018. The designer will be presenting his collection "Souvenirs of British India" on the final day of the fashion extravaganza, which runs from August 22 to 26.
The collection narrates an elegant story of Independence and empowerment with the gold and silver embellishments, tinselled silk, sables and other accessories.

It is inspired by the classical murals and roof paintings in Rajasthan from the British era.
The designer has chosen a royal combination of colours in modal silk, net, cotton velvet and georgette for the women's wear whereas for menswear he has used silks and velvet among others.

"I am excited to be showcasing my collection for the very first time in the Lakme Fashion Week. 'Souvenirs of British India' is my attempt to take the restricted royalty from the British Era and transform it into fashion for the urban Indian woman of today," Gaurav said in a statement.
