Manushi Chillar on her Miss World 2017 win: This one is for India

Manushi Chillar, on Tuesday, created a history after she won the coveted title of Miss World 2017. She has succeeded Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico to become the new beauty queen.

The Haryana born girl was competing with 118 beauties from across the world and managed to end India seventeen year long wait for the paegant. The last Indian to win Miss World title was Priyanka Chopra, who wore the crown in 2000.

Manushi, who is still finding it difficult to believe her triumph, has dedicated it to the country. She even thanked everyone for their love and support.

The beauty queen shared a picture of herslef with the crown on Instagram and wrote, "Thank you everyone for your love, support and well wishes. This one's for #India."


During her recent interview with Femina post winning the paegant, the 21-year-old medical student revealed that her journey to become Miss World 2017 would have been incomplete without the support of her family.

"I still can’t believe that I have won the Miss World title. I am very happy for the support of my family, friends and fans that supported me through this journey....This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my well-wishers," Manushi was quoted as saying.
