Miss Universe 2108 goes to….Catriona Gray from the Philippines. The 24-yaer-old 24-year-old Filipina-Australian bagged the prestigious crown beating contestants from 93 other countries. The Filipina-Australian beauty pipped South African Demi Leigh Nel-Peters for the top spot, becoming the fourth Filipina to bring home the coveted title. Miss Venezuela, Sthefany Gutiérrez, rounded out the top three at the contest in Bangkok while Thailand's own Sophida Kanchanarin made it to the final 10. India's Nehal Chudasama failed to make it to the Top 20.

Gray who ousted 93 other contestants to win the title is said to have a love for the arts and holds a Master Certificate in Music Theory. She is also an adventure enthusiast and has tremendous her love for Filipino dishes including adobo, balut and fruits such as the sweetest mangoes in the world.

According to the Miss Universe website, the 24-year-old is also known for her for altruistic side and is an HIV/AIDS advocate herself at Love Yourself PH and volunteers as a Teacher's Assistant to the students of Young Focus NGO. In the final round question, when asked about most important lesson she has learnt in life and how would she apply it in her time as Miss Universe, she answered, "I work a lot in the slums of Manila and life there is very poor and sad. I have always taught myself to look for the beauty in it, to look for the beauty in the faces of the children, and I would bring this aspect as a Miss Universe to see situations with a silver lining and to asses where I could give something and provide something.

"And if I could also teach people to be grateful, we could have an amazing world where negativity would not brew and foster, and children would have a smile on their face."negativity."

 South Africa's Tamaryn Green took the Miss Universe 2018 first runner-up title followed by second runner-up, Miss Venezeula Sthefany Guterrez.
