Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas wedding created history with PeeCee wearing the longest veil in the world designed by Ralph Lauren in their Christian wedding. And it is not just her white bridal gown with the 60-feet-long veil that made news, the red lehenga which Priyanka wore in their Hindu wedding also created great buzz among her fans and the fashion world. Apart from what the actress wore, fashion label Sabyasachi known for their intricate bridal wear reveals behind-the-scene of the making of the much-talk-about beautiful deep-red lehenga.

Priyanka’s deep red Kanauj rose Sabyasachi lehenga has intricate French embroidery and fine sequin work on it. All of it was custom made by 110 embroiderers from Kolkata over a staggering 3,720 hours, Sabyasachi says. The ace designer also says that the Quantico actor herself chipped in. Sabyasachi released a video on Instagram that gives a glimpse of the craftsmanship and the thought process that went into putting the finely designed lehenga together.

''While some bride stay rooted in purist tradition, others aspire to re-interpret it to suit their personalities. Priyanka Chopra’s neo-traditional bridal lehenga was the result of an active collaboration between the designer and the bride," Sabyasachi posted in Instagram.

The video shows the backbreaking process in which the tonal red lehenga was hand-embroidered with sequins, handmade organza flowers, French knots and Siam-red crystals. The video also shows the fine jewellery process the bride shone in.

Priyanka Chopra paired the bridal outfit with heavy-set gold jewellery – a matha patti, nath, and chura – and also an elaborate necklace by Chopard from their ‘Haute Joaillerie Collection’, featuring 184.50 carats of pear-shaped diamonds set in 18k ethical white gold. She wore pear-shaped diamond and a 16-carat oval-shaped diamond headpiece.
