Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be aligning their stars as one at Lake Como tomorrow and this is making fans even more anticipated. Though, we expect nothing less-than-perfect bridal look from the fashion trendsetter Deepika herself, there are so many bridal that would supposedly look beyond ethereal on Bollywood’s queen Deepika. Last year around this time, it was Sabyasachi who was the winner in the bridal outfit at Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s wedding.

From the Right Bank to the bylanes of Chowringhee. Smoky rooms, brooding eyes and the sensuous sway of gold tinsel. Society ladies, impoverished artists, soldiers at war and poets in debt. Languid bodies swaying to jazz, rivers of ecstasy running wild, diamonds entangled in enraptured orgies of sequinned gossamer-clad nubile limbs. Raise a drunken toast to unapologetic glamour and hedonistic style. The lady wears a hand-painted organza lehenga and dupatta embellished with hand-beaten silver sequins. The lehenga is paired with our iconic ‘Warq’ blouse in the ashes-of-roses colourway. Large embossed paillettes are individually hand mapped to contour the body, giving a visual sense of smeared silver dust. Centre-parted sleek hair, nude makeup, fine-cut and uncut diamond earrings paint a pretty picture of refined old-world glamour. The forever dilemma is to find a middle path between tradition and cultural appropriation. Especially when you are getting married in environments and settings alien to one’s culture.
