Shweta Bachchan accused of plagiarism a day after her label's launch

Shweta Bachchan made her debut in the fashion world by launching her label MXS in collaboration with ace designer Monisha Jaising. B-town celebs, including Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Karan Johar, showered love on Shweta's label and wished her luck, and the launch event was a star-studded affair. But, the brand has landed in hot water right after a day of it's lofty launch.

Diet Sabya, an anonymously managed Instagram account (inspired by the international account Diet Prada) that calls out copycats with aggressive hashtags, has accused MxS of pirating one of its designs from a lesser-known fashion brand. The insta handle shared a post of a sweatshirt design calling out Shweta Bachchan for plagiarism. The sweatshirt is allegedly picked up from a lesser-known loungewear brand called, The Laundry Room.

The post says, "When you google ‘Airplane Mode Sweatshirt’ — the first search that pops-up is a little known loungewear brand called, @tlroom. The brand retails out of @nordstromnyc, and is known for its cool girl vibe, comfy sweats and chill silhouettes. And, now @monishajaising and @shwetabachchan’s new brand — @mxsworld — has the same sweatshirt with the exact same slogan. So, who do we blame the mess on?”

Diet Sabya has taken Instagram by storm with its on-point spotting of fakes in Indian fashion.

Launched on September 1st, MXS is a new affordable luxury label for women of all size and age.
