Sushmita Sen made history on this day by bringing home the first ever Miss Universe crown in 1994 for the nation. Giving an answer worthy of the Miss Universe she is, Sen when asked about the essence of being a woman delivered an answer, she will be remembered in years to come. "If you had the time and money to embark on a great adventure, what would it be?’’ Sen was asked to which she replied, Sushmita Sen confidently came up with a reply she said, "The best adventure in the world is the children. If I have the money and time then I would like to do something special for the children and will have some great time with them."

Celebrating the historic win along with her fans boyfriend Rohan Shawl, who couldn’t be prouder of his love also took to his Instagram story to show how proud of a boyfriend he is. To mark the 25 year of Sen’s win Shawl posted a throwback of Sen of her Miss Universe win with the caption, "25 years of owning the universe." Sen of course later replied to his story making clear about her feeling, "I love you’’ she wrote.

The Bollywood beauty with brains who had earlier shared the memories of feat of hers as the first Miss Universe from India was also showered with love by her fans and admirers. Relying to the celebratory message from her fans, she tweeted “Happy 25 yrs of India’s First Miss Universe!!! Thank you @Gahlaut11 #MissUniverse1994 #India.”

In 1994, Sushmita Sen, at just 18 became the first ever Indian to take home the coveted crown of the Miss Universe title after defeating Miss Colombia Carolina Gómez and Miss Greece Rea Totounzi. 1994 was also the same year, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan bagged the Miss World crown.
