Saman became an internet hit for her different ways of wearing hijabs. The 35-year-old Saman Munir from Toronto, Canada and has been posting videos on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram since 2011 showing different ways of wearing hijabs to women around the world.

“I’ve always loved fashion, and you can inspire so many people through social media,’ Saman says. ‘D&G launched their hijab range recently I was so happy and impressed. Finally a big designer is catering to Muslims too; it makes us involved in the fashion world. I do what I do because I want to wear my hijab confidently and to admire it, not just wear it.”

She has over half a million online followers and she also admits that she does get some negative comments online. ‘Some people write ‘this is not right, it’s not the Islamic way, you’re going to burn in hell, you’re wearing too much make up,”‘ she says. ‘The first few seconds you feel fuming and then after a deep breath you let it go.’
