Maroon 5’s Adam Levine just followed the footsteps of David Beckham’s regrettable cornrow hairdo for some unknown reason. Debuting his hairdo to fans the Sugar singer in his Instagram uploaded a story sporting a bold new cut; daringly baring the sides of his head with cornrows which run over the top of his skull and tiny rat’s tail at the end.

“No. It’s not @therock Sorry for the confusion,” Levine wrote over the video.

Taking to Instagram, the 40-year-old frontman alluded to his bleached cornrows as a ‘corn hawk’, due to the fact they are positioned pride of place on the top of his head.

The extreme look comes just months after the former judge on ‘The Voice’ shared a mohawk hairdo and since then he has been experimenting with his hair for quite a lot.

This new extreme hairdo comes after Levine left his coaching position at The Voice after eight seasons, with Gwen Stefani stepping as his replacement.

Announcing his exit via Instagram, Levine wrote,

‘I am truly honored to have been a part of something I’ll always cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you to every single coach I ever sat in those chairs with. That is shared experience that is singularly ours. We have that for life. Thank you to everyone who supported this long strange and amazing left turn into a place I never thought I’d go’
