Summer is here which means we are more prone to dehydration. With the hot, humid weather we experience an increasing amount of sweat leading to more fluid lose that can cause can cause fatigue, headaches, skin problems, muscle cramps, low blood pressure and a rapid heart rate. While drinking water is very important, you can also get it from foods. This summer, shift your focus to water-rich vegetables that will make you stay super hydrated:

Iceberg Lettuce: Containing over 96% water, iceberg lettuce has the highest percentage of water in the lettuce family. So, with the rising temperature, stash pile iceberg onto sandwiches or use it as bed for any salads.

Celery: Containing 95.4% water, celery isn’t short of any health-rich nutrition. It contains folate and vitamins A, C, and K, neutralizes stomach acid, while also serving as a natural remedy for heat burn and acid reflux plus they make for an excellent salad.

Radishes: This root vegetable which is rich in antioxidants such as catechin also serves as a source of hydration. Containing over 93% water, slice them up into shredded cabbage and carrots, chopped hazelnuts and parsley, and toss with poppy seeds, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper to give a water-rich, spicy sweet flavour.

Green peppers: While all shades of bell peppers have a high-water content, green peppers top the chart when it comes to water with about 92% water. They also serve as a rich antioxidant and are very high in vitamin C, vitamin K1, vitamin E, vitamin A, folate, and potassium.

Spinach: It is not without reason that we have Popeye with his cans of spinach. One of the healthiest lettuces, spinach also has a high-water content over 91%.  They are also rich in lutein, potassium, fiber, and brain-boosting folate, Vitamin E and rich antioxidant to fight off the damaging molecules.
