Instant noodles in the country have “failed” to list salt in their nutritional information panel: Study

Seventy per cent of instant noodles in the country have “failed” to list salt in their nutritional information panel, a study claimed.

India has been ranked ninth in a list of countries where high amount of salt is found in instant noodles, according to the report.

The research by George Institute for Global Health (GIGH), which collected 765 noodle products from 10 countries between 2012 and 2016, said that “high and unnecessary” amount of salt in instant noodles sold around the world were found.

“India came in at ninth, but almost 70 per cent of its instant noodles failed to have salt listed on the nutritional information panel,” the report said.
