Raymond Kelly, a 91 year old man from New Malden, South west London became the oldest person of world to be fitted with a cochlear implant.

Raymond sice childhood suffered from Progeressive hearing loss and it was so severe, that people would have to write down what they wanted to say to him.

After this successful ear surgery he can now hear the voice of his ten grandchildern and two great grand childern for the first time in his life. The cochlear implant is surgically implanted electronic device that replaces function of damaged ear and give sound to the person who have hearing problem.

Despite hearing loss,Raymond had an active life and was a part of Air cadets during second world war.
