According to a new study, acupuncture can apparently reduce the number of hot flashes and night sweats, one of the prominent symptoms of menopause.

The study was conducted at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center had 209 women ages 45 to 60 who had not had a menstrual period for at least three months and had on average at least four hot flashes or night sweats per day in the previous two weeks.

One of the groups received acupuncture treatment for six months while the second group didn’t get any of acupuncture treatments but did receive for the second six months.

All the participants kept a close look on their daily routine. The females showed drastic improvements and cases of hot flashes significantly reduced. Though results may differ depending on the body type and other biological factors.
