Angelina Jolie diagnosed with Bell's Palsy after split from Brad Pitt, all you need to know about this rare condition

Golden Globe Awards winner Angelina Jolie who is known as one of the highest paid actresses of Hollywood, has recently broken her silence on her split from Brad Pitt. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair the diva has stated that last year she was diagnosed with Bell's palsy after being seprated from Brad. The seperation was a rather difficult decision of her life.

Bell's Palsy is a type of facial paralysis that causes an inability to control the facial muscles on the affected place. Due to this kind of paralysis Angelina suffered a lot and it caused one side of her face to droop.

However, at present te diva has recovered from her past state after she turned to acupuncture to make the situation better. The rare condition which takes upto nine months to be cured completely, may also be prevented by Physiotherapy.

"Sometimes women in families put themselves last, until it manifests itself in their own health," she was quoted while interacting with reporters.

Apart from facial paralysis, muscle twitching and weakness are also some of the symptoms, you shuold be careful with. Other symptoms include a change in taste, pain around the ear, and increased sensitivity to sound. In general the symptoms come on over 48 hours.

Though there are no certain cause of the disease, diabetes and upper respiratory tract infection are considered to be common reasons behind the suffering. While Brain tumor, stroke, Ramsay Hunt syndrome, and Lyme disease are other possible cause of the disease, some also believe that viral infection is a key reason of the paralysis that may also result in swelling.

Pregnant woman and people with flu are also even at high risk of developing such conditions. There are also reports that the rare condiion effects around one in every 5,000 people annually and children under age of 15 and adults over age of 60 are the most common to suffer the same.
