Cancer is one of the deadliest diseases known to mankind. Ever since its first diagnosis in 1775, humankind has been trying their best to fight off cancer. Since cancer doesn’t develop overnight, it sometimes takes time to diagnose it. But when it is diagnosed, lives are put at risks. A definite cure is yet to be found. Hence, to reduce the risks of this common and deadly disease, prevention is important. Based on several studies and doctors' advice, here are seven simple ways that can help prevent cancer.

  1.Eat resistant starches to prevent cancer

According to science, foods like green bananas, rolled oats, and white beans has resistance starch which may help reduce the increased risk of colon cancer. Instead of taking food such as lean meat which increases cell proliferation in the rectal tissue, resistant starch will help the cell proliferation level function normal. Have a healthy starch breakfast and stay away from cancer.

  2. Garlic is one of the best food ingredient that fight cancer

Garlic is nature’s anti-cancer gift. This pungent ingredient contains allyl sulfur compounds that may stimulate the immune system’s natural defenses against cancer. Hence, it has the potential to help the body get rid of cancer-causing chemicals and help cause cancer cells to die naturally, a process called apoptosis. The more garlic you consume the lesser chance of you developing cancer.

  3. Battle cancer with Green veggies 

According to a study, people who eat broccoli and its cousins such as cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, and bok choy have a lower risk of kidney cancer. So, veggies or cancer your choice!

  4. A glass or wine or beer helps prevent cancer

While the health damaging effects of alcohol is emphasised, the goodness of it is ignored. Alcohol has elements that protect your body against the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which is known to cause ulcers and may lead to stomach cancer. Although a heavy amount of alcohol intake is never advised, drinking three to six glasses of wine or one to two half-pints of beer a week decreases the chance of developing cancer.

  5. Fight cancer with Kiwi

Kiwi is packed with cancer-fighting antioxidants such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, lutein and cooper. It is also incredibly delicious hence there shouldn’t be a reason as to why you shouldn’t be consuming it.

  6. Sun bath is essential

Vitamin D, which our body needs for reasons such as maintaining bones and teeth. Vitamin D may also help promote proper cell maturation and reproduction. People with low levels of vitamin D have a higher risk of multiple cancers, including breast, colon, prostate, ovarian, and stomach, as well as osteoporosis, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and high blood pressure. Having said that, avoid extreme exposure to avid skin cancer. Few minutes does the work.

  7. Stand more often

Sitting a lot can increase the risk of colon cancer. New studies suggest that people who spend most of their day sitting are at a 24 per cent higher risk for colon and endometrial cancer than people who spend less time in a chair. Time to learn to work while standing!
