Having trouble in sleeping? The reason might be loneliness. Researchers define loneliness as a feeling of distress that people experience when they feel their social relationships are inadequate.

According to the research, young adults who feel lonely have 24 per cent more chances of feeling tired throughout the day and also have difficulty in paying concentration during the day.

They may also have poor which includes more time taken to fall asleep, total duration of sleeping, and also disturbances while sleeping.

"Diminished sleep quality is one of the many ways in which loneliness gets under the skin, and our findings underscore the importance of early therapeutic approaches to target the negative thoughts and perceptions that can make loneliness a vicious cycle," said Louise Arseneault Professor at King's College London.

And especially those who faced some sort of violence including crime, sexual abuse, or any other kind of violent abuse by family members or friends were at 70 per cent risk of suffering the outcome of loneliness that is poor sleep quality.
