The 16kg ovarian tumour was successfully removed from 69-year old women. The surgery was successfully conducted by Manipal doctors which lasted for five hours.
According to the doctors at Kasturba hospital, this was possibly the largest tumour ever found in coastal Karnataka.
As per a report published in Times of India, the patient underwent a hysterectomy and her uterus was removed while retaining the ovaries.
Three months ago, she had a complaint of loss of appetite and also a feeling of being full and bloated even with the little intake of food.
