Tinder dates just like your ‘left’ and ‘right’ could either go north or south. For two Tinder users, the road-map to their date was not a Tinderella ever after when their date went south after the man went mia following their one-night-stand. According to reports, the man named Rama Reddy had been exchanging messages with a woman known as Meera for a month before they slept together. As soon as their steamy rendezvous Meera reportedly asked Reddy to marry her but was rejected by the 29-year-old man saying he was "not ready for commitment".
Claims have it that 29-year-old even blocked Meera on WhatsApp after she continued to pursue him.
Having felt cheated which Meera said she felt "disgusted and used" so she decided to file a complaint with the police.
Misleading and promising to marry someone in order to get them into bed is considered a crime following which the man was arrested, reports add. In 2016, 10,068 cases of rape by "known persons on promise to marry the victim" were reported, according to crime data in India.
Talking to Bangalore Mirror, Meera said when she met Rama he pretended to be "nice and decent" but he just wanted a physical relationship her.
"When I proposed marriage, he just declined my proposal saying that he was not ready for commitment and also told me not meet him in the future.
"It was literally the morning after the night before that he was breaking up with me.
"These type of incidents should not be repeated with other people using dating apps. Women should not be used as a source of physical pleasure’’ Meera added.
An official from the police station said the accused has been taken into custody and will be produced before the court.
