New Delhi :

Human tendencies differ at times but not every time it is the case. There are many things which function almost the same in all the human bodies. For example mood swings, you can be feeling low, blue or some upheaval might surround you, but it is not always the external factors that play a role in defining our moods. Many times it is the internal factors that decide our mood of the day.

Various factors are responsible for mood swings ranging from lifestyle to sunbathing. Here are a few of them:

Exercise:  It keeps you active, jovial during the day- its as simple as that. Exercising releases endorphins while increasing serotonin which results in positive effects overall wellbeing. The most usual manifestation can be realized when you go without exercising for days, you are likely to feel irritated or not very good for the day.

Sleep:  Sleep-deprivation is one of the most common factors affecting your mood. Not having enough sleep during the night may put you in a bad mood. A short nap can do wonders for relaxing your body and calming the mind at the same time.  It is also recommended that an average of eight hours of sleep is need for an adult. Though, sleeping for too long may also put you to some kind of fatigue.

Food: You become what you eat and this happens to be true. Good food, proper nutrition is the body requirement. Sufficient consumption of fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins and minerals also help in keeping your mood stable. A good diet plan helps a lot in the overall well being of the body.

Stress: Taking too much of tension, stress also plays a vital role here. Your worries, troubles may put you in a bad mood thus making you feel negative and low. Both our mind and body work as sponge towards the world around us, we absorb things around us so better feel good to stay fit. Whenever you are stressed, try to take a stroll, go to gym, listen to music- it proves to be very effective when it comes to mood swing. Music therapy is another way as it helps to uplift the mood.

Water intake: Hydration has a major role to play in our body. A dehydrated body remains inactive, lowers the mood thus making you dull. On an average an individual should drink 8-10 glass of water a day to keep the body properly hydrated.

Hormones:  Hormones can also be the culprit behind the sudden unexpected mood swings. Hormonal imbalance in women specially during that time of week is a major factor for feeling low or irritated for no reason. You can cheer yourself up by exercising, yoga or meditation though.

Sunlight: A plethora of studies have proved that sunlight is important for the body. Sunlight helps the brain to release its own natural anti-depressant. In fact some amount of sunlight is necessary for the body depending upon the kind of topography, climate, environment and season of the year.
