The deadly Swine flu and other complications took 22 lives in Telangana during August 1, 2016 to June 2, the state government said on Saturday.

According to a state government bulletin on swine flu, total 11,131 samples were tested out of which 1,518 were found to be positive for the virus. 16 new samples were tested on Friday and all were found negative.

The bulletin added that sufficient stock of medicines and testing kits are available at different hospitals in the state and people suspected.

Swine influenza is an infection caused by any one of several types of swine influenza viruses. As of 2009, the known SIV strains include influenza C and the subtypes of influenza A known as H1N1, H1N2, H2N1, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3.
