Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) which is caused by the unwanted growth of bacteria in our urine is quite a common issue among women. For a woman, the risk of getting an Urinary Tract Infection is generally higher.

We are usually told to clean from front to back after we go to the bathroom. The reason is very simple.  Urethra which transports our urine from the urinary bladder is located quite close to the anus.

The bacteria generally E.coli which come out of our intestine can easily escape the anus and invade our urethra. The bacteria can then move to the bladder and result in serious infection.

Some of the symptoms include fever, chills, nausea, discomfort and a burning sensation while one passes urine.

Urinary tract infections affect both women and men but women are at higher risk because their urinary tract is smaller when compared to their male counterparts. As a result of this, women are advised to take extra care so as to prevent the infection

UTI impacts those organs which basically perform the key function of removing the waste from our body while regulating the body's temperature.  These organs include liver, uterus, kidney and bladder.

The matter of concern is that if the infection continues to prevail or recur frequently and affects the upper tract (uterus, kidney or fallopian tubes), then this might impact the ability of a woman to conceive.
