This is how you can add some extra years to your beautiful life

A latest study led by senior author Dr. Anne Newman has found that a slight change in the way of leading life may add some extra years to your appealing life.

According to the latest findings, published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, walking greater distances and having some healthy diets can help people postponing their disabled period and death.

The 25-year-long study was conducted on 5248 older adults recruited at an average age of 73. While the average number of disabled years was approximately 2.9 for men, it was 4.5 in case of women.

The research showed that there are several number of reasons behind a healthy, long and able life. Apart from walking and eating healthy obesity was associated with a relative expansion of the disabled period. People also need to quit smoking in order to be blessed with a flourishing life ahead.

"We discovered that by improving lifestyle, we can postpone death, but even more so, we can postpone disability--in fact, it turns out that we`re compressing that disabled end-of-life period to a shorter timeframe," Dr. Anne Newman was quoted while talking about the same.

"This clearly demonstrates the value of investing in a healthy lifestyle," Anne added further.
