About 300 million people worldwide suffer from asthma and almost 10 per cent of this number comes from India. As per the Asthma Society of India, at present 25% of Indian population suffers from allergy and 5% of them are suffering from asthma.

The chronic disease of asthma affects the air passages of lungs which inflames and narrows them causing trouble in breathing.

A lot of factors affect our lifestyle and if worked upon asthma effects can be reduced. While it is not clear what causes asthma but researchers believe that it is caused by  a combination of both genetic and environmental factors.

Common symptoms include: wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, nasal nasal congestion or trouble sleeping. Chronic asthmatics can combine medication and lifestyle changes to master the disease as best as possible.

While some of the possible causes of asthma are:

Allergens like house dust mites, animal dander, pollen, smoking, pollution, emotional anxiety, stress, common cold and so on.
